Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! In honor of our Irish heritage, we celebrated the New Year 6 hours ahead of schedule with Ireland. Caitlin made the beautiful sign and Hailey the Jello shamrock. We also had corned beef and cabbage with New potatoes, green dinner rolls, and Irish apple dumplings. Well the apple dumplings weren't Irish, but they were yummy!

We toasted the New Year with green sparkling apple cider!
It's 2011 and we've got the luck of the Irish...and we get to go to bed early!

Christmas Day

Christmas Morning! We got to sleep in till 8am, yippee!! The girls got a ton of great things, like Zoobles from their Awa D in Michigan. Hailey is sitting next to her new "Dude" scope, that's what she screamed when she opened it (It's a Duo-microscope) and Ducky is wearing the glasses Santa brought for Caitlin's new American Girl doll.

We spent the afternoon eating turkey at Awa and Apa's house. The girl's made them a special glow in the dark stepping stone with their names on it and 2010. They were so proud of their hard work and that it really did glow in the dark!

And Aunt Michele came for Christmas! Later in the week they even got to have a sleep-over with Aunt Michele.
I won't even ask what time they finally went to bed. I'm just glad Awa was there too keep Michele in line ; ) LOL!!

Merry Christmas!!

Here they are! Family pictures!

The Davis Family.

Caitlin

Hailey

What can I say...I am truly blessed with an amazing family. I have 2 Beautiful girls: 1 with a passion for drama and 1 with a very witty sense of humor and I have a husband who speaks an entirely different language than I do most times. Sometimes I can make out "make me a sammich" but then other times I am clueless. What matters, though, is that I feel loved. Whether it's when one of my girls hands me a stress ball, or climbs into our bed in the middle of the night, or even when hubby grabs me up in his "vulcan love grip," (I told you he speaks a different language....who says that?) I am loved and am in love with my amazing family!

Hailey's Lab! Happy 8th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Hailey! My little scientist gave me the perfect party theme to work with. This party was so much fun to plan. Caitlin only ranked it a 9 out of 10 on the party scale (she said "the treat bags were weak".....I didn't put a ton of candy in them, because last week was Halloween!) I think it was a great success! Hailey said she "partied like it was 1985...you know....where the hippies are!" LOL. We had a lime green chocolate fountain AKA nuclear slime and my favorite, jello petri dishes with gummy critters! The kids had so much fun making snow, worms, and elephants toothpaste! I can't wait to plan the next party....Caitlin mentioned maybe a CSI theme!

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun. The girls are growing up fast and we're having to pick up the pace as we chase them down the street trick or treating!

Hailey's 1st Ride! October 6, 2010

Hailey learned how to ride her bike on vacation! She had been so scared that she was going to fall down. I am so proud of her! I especially love the outfit she picked out for the special occasion. I guess you can conquer all fears with spidey jammies on!

Mammoth Caves ~ October 2010

Check out my little spelunkers! We had an amazing time at the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. God never ceases to amaze me! There is so much left to explore and this place left my kids wanting to see and learn more. We will definitely go back so they can do the wild cave kids trog tour where they can get dressed up in coveralls and hard hats and explore the tiniest parts of this amazing cave!
This is one of the exits to the wild cave tour and yes it is as small as it looks!

The parts of the cave we visited were huge!

...and look Dennis does smile for pictures!

No trip to Kentucky is complete without a visit to Dino World!

13.1 X 2

Didn't I say I would never run another half again?

After finishing the Country Music Half Marathon, I jokingly asked if anyone wanted to run the Womens Half Marathon with me and unfortunately somebody said yes! C'mon....I was just joking! It was the day after my first half marathon, my knees were crunchy and my whole body hurt!!

My friend Amanda took me up on this challenge and we finished it....together...and my beautiful family was waiting at the finish line!

I am not sure why I run....I'm positive it's God, but I wonder if I may be taking him too literally. Anyway, I will keep running the race HE has marked out for me and one day I will understand why.

With God, all things are possible...who knows...maybe even a full marathon! Right Amanda?
